Antifog Facemasks

Moon Crafts is a small retail and crafts shop in Bodafon Farm Park, LLandudno.  I´m Loly Williams, the shop keeper, crafter and owner. I like to create fun, joyful dolls and other silly bits for the kids that visit the farm. Ultimately, I am a sewer, I have been sewing for over 20 years now. I am never happier than when I am about to start a quilt, a bag or any other project. I also make facemasks; they are very popular, not just locally, but nationwide. I have sold my antifog face masks all over the U.K.

I have collected many quilting and patchwork cotton fabrics for years. It was a popular request of mine for birthdays and Christmas. I was always happy to get a fat quarter bundle of fabric as a gift. I ended up with a rather large collection of fabric and not enough time to develop any project. As the need for face masks grew, I realized that it was time for me to make some cotton, pretty patterned facemasks. I made face masks with boats, flowers such as daffodils, poppies, sunflowers, and more! Then, I started to get requests for specific patterns, like Star Wars, Batman, Football, Welsh Dragon, Gothic styles, etc. So I found a good source of cotton fabrics online that will deliver home.

Originally, I wanted to give the facemasks away and I did. My friends and family all have a few facemasks that I gave them for free. As they got many compliments, I started to get orders in. After that, people were coming to my shop specifically to buy the antifog face masks. What really differentiated my antifog face masks were the unique design, but also, they really work! Anybody who wears glasses would want to get them.

After 6 months, I realized that I had made and sold over 500 facemasks. I have to admit that I didn’t expect to sell that many but, I’ve been sewing since I was a child and it’s a big passion of mine. I don´t mind spending long hours in front of the sewing machine.
Obviously, the more you make, the better you get at it! Right now, I can sew a facemask in 5 minutes. I have a lot of fabric pieces already cut. It was fun to make a template and cut hundreds of pieces of fabric on my side table in front of the tv.
